Our Adoption Timeline

June 17, 2008 - We made the decision to grow our family by International Adoption.

June 22, 2008 - Started researching different countries and agencies to find the right fit for our family.

August 20, 2008 - Signed our contract with Americans Adopting Orphans (adoption agency) and Christian Family Services (homestudy agency)!

October 21, 2008 - First Home Study Visit

October 27, 2008 - Second/Final Home Study Visit

Oct & Nov 2008 -- Begin Dossier Collection

November 4, 2008 -- Read draft of Home Study. It's complete!! So exciting!!

May 2009 -- Due to financial strain and other factors we have decided to pursue U.S. state adoption and put our international adoption on hold.

June 9, 2009 -- We attended Orientation for our new, state adoption.

August 15, 2009 -- Day 1 (of 2) of Adoption training class!

August 22, 2009 -- Day 2 (of 2) of Adoption training class! Yay! We "graduated" :)

September 8, 2009 -- Fire Inspection of our home (PASSED!)

September 9, 2009 -- DHEC Inspection of our home (PASSED!)

November 8, 2009 -- Homestudy Visit by Social Worker...again!

November 12, 2009 -- Our Homestudy is awaiting approval!

December 21, 2009 -- Our Homestudy is approved...we are ready to find our child!

January, 2010 -- Pursuing a 5 year old little boy, "S"!

March 15, 2010 -- Just received our invite for an adoption staffing on April 19th for "S"! (This means we have a final "interview" and his caseworkers will make their decision on this day!!)

April 19, 2010 -- Adoption Staffing for "S"! (Skype)

April 20, 2010 -- Waiting on the phone to ring for the decision on "S's" Forever Family placement!

April 20, 2010 -- Received the call that "S" will be our son!
